Paris Saint-Germain is linked to FC Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembélé, who would inject some youth into the capital club’s attacking group and can replace the outgoing Ángel Di María, who’s likely to depart when his contract expires in June.
Dembélé’s contract also runs out in June, and his recent form has caused the Spanish club to ponder another run at negotiations for a contract extension.
This week, the La Liga side renewed contact with those close to the France international during a meeting between Mateu Alemany, the club’s football director, and Moussa Sissoko, the player’s agent.
However, Sport reports that Barcelona has made no new extension offer. The meeting first served to renew contact between the two parties and ease the tension, which was reaching high levels in January when the representative of the 24-year-old refused the club’s proposals.
According to the Spanish media outlet, Dembélé’s representatives have assured the Catalan leaders that they haven’t signed any club yet.
Barcelona’s financial situation put a limit that they wouldn’t exceed when discussing a contract extension. Those representing Dembélé have underlined the player’s value, and thus far, both parties remain apart in terms of the money in a new contract.
