Paris Saint-Germain got back on track in Ligue 1 on matchday 30, as it clinched a 5-1 win over Lorient. PSG’s superstar attacking trio shined in the match, as Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe all scored in the fixture.
Neymar scored twice against Lorient, and he also created five goal-scoring chances over his time on the pitch. Overall, as he noted to Prime Video Sport France after the match, he was pleased to see his team clinch such a convincing victory.
“We are happy for the victory,” Neymar said. “We know that this championship is very difficult. We must continue to win and show that we want to go for this 10th title.”
The Brazilian international also took a look back on PSG’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 elimination to Real Madrid. In the big picture, Neymar well recognizes that the club must continue to “move forward.”
“We don’t like to lose,” Neymar said. “It’s very difficult what happened in Madrid. But we have to move forward. It hurt us a lot to lose that game because we wanted to go all the way in this competition but unfortunately we were eliminated. It’s difficult for the public to accept the defeat, but for us it was also hard.”
PSG now has a mere eight matches remaining on its league schedule. Neymar and company will have a key away fixture against Clermont Foot upcoming — a side that currently sits at 17th place in the league standings.
