‘What Is the Club’s Standard’ – Thierry Henry Rips PSG’s Performance After Their 3-0 Loss to Monaco

Paris Saint-Germain came out flat and embarrassed themselves against AS Monaco, losing 3-0 and being outplayed for most of the matchup.

Rather than looking to end the season positively, leading to the capital club winning Ligue 1, Mauricio Pochettino’s squad shows their inconsistent and flat performances that have plagued them all season.

In the postgame coverage on Prime Video Sport (via Foot Mercato), French football pundit Thierry Henry ripped PSG for how they accept these types of performances, considering other big clubs around Europe wouldn’t tolerate matches such as this one versus Monaco.

“It’s not just the jersey. It’s been since the start of the season that PSG has been doing this. It’s often; it’s repetitive. What is the club’s standard? The jersey must transcend people. What is the standard,” Henry said.

“I played at Barça. If you don’t respect what you have to do, you leave, at Bayern, you leave, in the big clubs you leave, at PSG do you leave? Ten titles is huge, you must not trivialize it, but you must not do that.”

Furthermore, Henry stated there’s a disconnect between Les Parisiens and their supporters. The former Arsenal man added he sees PSG being managed like a company and not a football club. He continues by saying that the French giants need to find a connection with their community.

“There is a lack of connection between the club and the former PSG, the former supporters of the club, it is managed like a company and not like a club; you have to rediscover that connection with the community,” Henry said.

PSG’s next fixture will be at the Parce des Princes when they welcome FC Lorient.
