PSG Mercato: Paris SG Remains in the Running for Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger

The signing of Sergio Ramos hasn’t worked out for Paris Saint-Germain, and Presnel Kimpembe is too inconsistent, meaning the capital club will be looking in the center-back market.

PSG could be diving into the free transfer market as they’re linked to Chelsea central defender Antonio Rudiger. The 29-year-old’s contract expires in June, and with the current situation that The Blues find themselves in from a financial perspective with ownership, he could depart.

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano gave an update on who’s in the race to land the Germany international. The Italian journalist stated on Twitter that Rudiger had made no decision yet regarding his future.

“Antonio Rüdiger has not yet made any decision for his future. He is looking at the proposals and waiting for news from Chelsea,” Romano said. “He has been approached by several clubs in recent months, including Spanish clubs PSG and Juventus Turin. Only Bayern Munich is not in the race.”

While still in his prime, Rudiger is a veteran defender who brings UEFA Champions League pedigree and isn’t coming off a severe injury like Ramos was last summer. Nonetheless, PSG has plenty of competition; if they believe the Chelsea man is the guy, they’ll need to offer an offer and project that entices him.
