Paris Saint-Germain will need to upgrade their squad massively as chasing the stars and putting out a squad-based on marketing will not work. No matter the cost, the capital club needs to begin grabbing French talent in Ligue 1.
One French football talent that will be in demand this summer is AS Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni. According to Foot Mercato, Real Madrid is one of the clubs eyeing the midfielder to be a long-term solution for the aging Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
Meanwhile, PSG is also a real player in the race to land the 22-year-old. Les Parisiens have been studying the file for several months now, and the player would be considered a significant reinforcement for the Parisian environment.
However, the uncertainty behind the scenes, with the futures of manager Mauricio Pochettino and sporting director Leonardo, does not make it any easier. Also, there are English clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea eyeing Tchouameni, and the Monaco midfielder hasn’t hidden his desire to play in English football.
When it comes to the asking price, the report states that Monaco wants at least €50-million for the France international. Furthermore, Monaco will have to hand over 20-percent of a transfer to FC Girondins de Bordeaux.
