PSG Mercato: Barcelona Hopes to Extend Ousmane Dembélé; Has Verbal Agreement With Paris SG

Paris Saint-Germain is still reeling after crashing out of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. The capital club now begins the process of perhaps looking at a rebuild of their project and adding more French talent to their locker room, as it’s been one of the talking points.

According to Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna, FC Barcelona plans to walk back to the negotiating table to talk extension with Ousmane Dembelé.

The French media outlet also reports that the capital club has a verbal agreement with the 24-year-old. The information adds that Dembelé’s entourage will remain inflexible on its initial request, an annual wage of €20-million that includes salary and bonus.

Dembelé’s contract expires in a couple of months when he could leave the Spanish club as a free agent, and Barcelona loses a key player for nothing. This outcome isn’t ideal considering the form he’s in right now, where he’s put up one goal and seven assists, including a two assists performance versus Real Madrid.

If Barcelona can’t meet the wage demands of Dembelé, then the winger could be Paris bound this summer and be the replacement for the outgoing Ángel Di María.
