Over the past year, Paris Saint-Germain has been connected to Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba. The 28-year-old’s contract expires in June, and he’s yet to sign a contract extension.

Reports suggest that the France international will be leaving Old Trafford and former French footballer Nicolas Anelka noted on RMC Sport that Pogba welcomes a signing in Paris.

“If he wants to come to Paris? I discussed that six months ago with him, and he would not be against coming to PSG,” Anelka said. “If he comes, we will forget all his injuries, and we will see that he is a top player.”

Furthermore, Anelka stated why Pogba plans to leave Manchester United for a second time when his contract runs out in June. Moreover, the RMC Sport pundit says that a move to the capital club would be something that benefits Pogba.

“It’s not the best club where he can have fun and show his talent,” Anelka added. “I think PSG would be great for him. Some say it wouldn’t be good for Paris, as he is supposedly often injured. But I think his injuries are due to his life in Manchester because he is not well psychologically.”

PSG has long needed a midfielder at the level of Marco Verratti. The French giants had brought in several midfielders but continued to rely heavily on the Italy international, which bit them when he was either suspended or injured.

Should they complete a move for Pogba, it would give the capital club two midfielders to build around to provide them with their best midfield since Verratti played alongside Thiago Motta and Blaise Matuidi.
