Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti shined in the 4-0 win over Reims in Ligue 1 play, as he scored a pair of goals and created two goal-scoring chances for teammates.
In speaking after the match, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino took some time to laud Verratti for the keen showing against Reims, where he spotlighted the Italian’s versatility as a midfielder on the pitch.
“Marco [Verratti] can play in all these midfield positions,” Pochettino said. “The important thing is he scored. Whenever a player who’s not used to scoring, scores, it’s a good thing.
“We know Marco’s quality. Scoring can only make him better.”
Overall, Verratti has now featured in 12 matches so far in league play this season.
