Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti earned a start for his side in the 1-1 away draw result against Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1 play.
Overall, the Italian midfielder was a central figure in PSG’s midfield setup over the course of the contest. He completed 71 passes, notched 11 ground duels won and successfully won three tackles.
In the big picture, Verratti sees that this result “was deserved,” which he touched on following the match (via PSG TV).
“I think it was a very good game between two great teams,” Verratti said. “There were a lot of good players on the pitch. We took an early goal, then we kept playing, kept creating chances, and I think the overall result is deserved. Although I think if Kylian’s shot had gone in, we would have won.
“I think it was a good game, a game that people must have enjoyed as well.”
PSG has extended its unbeaten streak in all competitions to nine matches, as it has not lost a single fixture since its 2-1 away loss to Manchester City in UEFA Champions League group stage play.
For now, a home match awaits PSG up next, as it will host Brest.
