Report: Wijnaldum and Six PSG Players Set to Miss the Ligue 1 Fixture Against Reims

Paris Saint-Germain is still dealing with notable injuries across the board at this midway point of the Ligue 1 season.

PSG is set to clash with Reims up next in Ligue 1 play, and it will be without multiple players for the home encounter. For one, as noted by PSG’s official website, Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum will be unavailable for the match due to a left ankle injury. As of late, he has been receiving treatment for the injury.

More so, Neymar (ankle injury), Juan Bernat (post-COVID-19 program), Alexandre Letellier (calf injury), Abdou Diallo (AFCON), Idrissa Gueye (AFCON), and Achraf Hakimi (AFCON) all will also not be in PSG’s squad list for the fixture.

At the least, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino is set to have the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi available for the match. Mbappe multiple scheduled training sessions ahead of the match due to a groin injury, while Messi was away from the team earlier in the month due to a positive COVID-19 test. The Argentine forward has produced a negative PCR test and has been a regular in training as of late.

PSG could once again extend its lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table with a win over Reims coupled with an OGC Nice winless result against Metz on matchday 22.
