Report: Mbappe Could Miss PSG’s Upcoming Ligue 1 Fixture vs. Reims Due to Injury

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe is now dealing with a notable groin injury, the club announced on Wednesday.

The French international has been undergoing treatment for his injury. The club plans on conducting a follow-up assessment on his injury this Friday.

L’Equipe further adds that Mbappe was sidelined from training on both Tuesday and Wednesday due to the groin issue.

Mbappe has been a pivotal contributor to PSG in all competitions as of late. The French forward is just coming off of the one-goal performance in PSG’s Ligue 1 home fixture against Brest, where the side notched a 2-0 win.

At the least, there is a possibility that PSG could see Lionel Messi return to in-game action. The Argentine forward had been away from the team after testing positive for COVID-19. He has since not only logged a negative test that cleared him to be back with the team, but he also featured in the side’s collective training session on Tuesday.

It will be noteworthy to see whether Messi and Mbappe both go on to share the pitch against Reims.
