‘I Am Happy in Paris’ – Leandro Paredes Hopes to Remain Long-Term With PSG

Leandro Paredes was recently in a report linking him to a possible departure. The 27-year-old is under contract until 2023 and has value, especially for Italian clubs. Furthermore, he’s not solidified his role as a starter in the midfield.

However, Paredes has recently denied any reports suggesting he wants to depart. The Argentine also elaborated further during his interview with ESPN Argentina (via AS). The midfielder wants to continue his tenure and extend with Les Parisiens.

“I am happy in Paris; I am happy in the club, in the city. I would love to be here for many more years. We do not envy anything to other clubs. I am in a very big club, and the objectives are high; we want to achieve them. There are players from world level; the best are here,” Paredes said.

“I still do not know if I will continue at the club, I speak with the sports director, with the coach, and they are happy. I do not know why it came out that I want to leave; people are happy.”

Paredes arrived in 2019 and has shown flashes as a midfielder who has a role with PSG. Earlier this year, in the Round of 16 away match against FC Barcelona was a fixture where he flashed his qualities. However, he’s yet to put together these types of performances consistently.

Le Parisien reported a few days ago that PSG would determine whether to extend the midfielder at the end of the season. Paredes could be a viable depth midfielder, but it will be interesting to see if both parties reach a deal in the coming months.
