Xavi Simons is one of the top talents in Paris Saint-Germain’s youth system. However, the teenager has yet to see consistent playing time with the first team, which is why he’s pondering whether to extend his contract with the capital club.
Recent reporting by Fabrizio Romano reveals that Simons’ agent Mino Raiola wants to secure some guarantees for the teenager who wants a role on the first team, or they’ll look at other options.
As a result, Cadena Ser (via Canal Supporters) reports that FC Barcelona wants to bring back Simons, who was in La Masia before leaving for Paris. The Spanish media outlet adds that club president Joan Laporta would welcome this idea and has already discussed the situation with Raiola.
Simons’ contract expires next summer PSG has offered a contract extension to the midfielder, but the other side has yet to agree to a new deal. The 18-year-old could be the latest name to depart the youth academy in search of greener pastures elsewhere.
