Report: Xavi Simons Wants a Role on the First Team Before Extending Contract With PSG

Over the past few years, plenty of Paris Saint-Germain youth players have departed the French capital searching for greener pastures that will provide them with the necessary playing time to further their careers.

Some of them flopped, while others have thrived, which is the case with all young players. The next group of young players pondering their future with Les Parisiens includes Xavi Simons, who arrived from FC Barcelona in 2019.

According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG has offered a contract extension to Xavi Simons in June 2021, but both parties have yet to agree on a deal.

The report further details that Simons’ agent Mino Raiola wants to make sure that the teenager will have a role on the first team or he’ll look for other clubs.

There’s been a loud cry to give youth players over veteran players who either don’t offer much or don’t have a future. Supporters want to see Simons, Ismaël Gharbi, and Edouard Michut.

Over the weekend, Éric Junior Dina Ebimbe did get minutes as a starter against FC Girondins de Bordeaux. As a result, there might be a change coming.
