PSG Provides a Major Update on Paredes’ Notable Injury

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes is now the latest player within the team to suffer a notable injury.

PSG’s official website noted that Paredes will not take part in the team’s upcoming UEFA Champions League home group stage fixture against RB Leipzig due to a thigh injury. The veteran midfielder suffered this injury while featuring for the Argentina national team over the October international break.

As it stands, Paredes is slated to return to action with PSG following the November international break. This will also see him miss Argentina’s 2022 World Cup qualifying fixtures against both Brazil and Uruguay next month.

Paredes has only featured in three matches in all competitions so far this season. He has earned a mere one start in PSG’s last six league fixtures, which came during the home league match against Montpellier.

For now, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino may call upon the likes of Rafinha and Ander Herrera to heavily feature with the team in Paredes’ absence.
