Presnel Kimpembe has regressed in his form, which is why Paris Saint-Germain brought in Sergio Ramos this summer; however, he’s not a long-term solution at 35-years-old and his injury history. As a result, the capital club could be in the market for another central defender.
German media outlet Wett Freunde spoke to Italian football and transfer market specialist Gianluca Di Marzio to discuss the future of Antonio Rüdiger, a player that Paris Saint-Germain has expressed interest in with the player’s contract expiring in 2022.
According to Di Marzio, Rüdiger will not extend with Chelsea as various European clubs express interest in the Germany international. As a result, PSG may upset their former manager Thomas Tuchel by snatching one of his vital pieces to his starting eleven.
“Rüdiger is in talks with Juventus, Manchester City, Tottenham, and even PSG, who still need a defender. It is difficult for him to sign a new contract with Chelsea. He will join one of the four named teams,” Di Marzio said.
The situation regarding Ramos, who still has not played a minute with PSG, seems to be worrying. So much so that PSG sporting director Leonardo is already actively looking for another central defender.
