Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Angel Di Maria is currently enjoying a much-deserved vacation following Argentina’s triumph in the 2021 Copa America tournament.
Di Maria scored the lone goal of the final against Brazil, as he played a crucial role in helping La Albiceleste claim a Copa America title.
The Argentine playmaker will soon join up with PSG for its ongoing preseason schedule, but he may be heading into his final season with the French powerhouse.
Di Maria will become a free agent next year when his current contract deal with PSG expires. It is not yet known whether the midfielder will stay on with PSG, but his wife, Jorgelina Cardoso, may already know on what he could end up doing.
In speaking recently to the Argentine-based outlet TyC Sports (via TNT Sports), Cardoso revealed that Di Maria is soon looking forward to a homecoming.
“I have no doubt that he will retire at Rosario Central,” Cardoso said. “It will be there. There’s no way he’s going to retire anywhere else. I don’t know when, don’t ask for a date, there is no date yet. But he wants to finish his career at Rosario Central.”
Di Maria has previously talked about wanting to retire at Rosario Central, which is a club that he began his professional career with.
It will be noteworthy to see whether Di Maria will go on to join the Argentine club next year when he hits free agency.
