PSG Mercato: Paris SG Takes Lead In Pursuit of Inter Milan Defender Achraf Hakimi; Chelsea Eyes Plan B

Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea FC’s pursuit of Inter Milan right-back Achraf Hakimi could be coming to an end. The 22-year-old is close to joining the capital club in the saga’s latest development.

According to Corriere dello Sport and La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Paris Fans), the French giants have taken the lead over Chelsea in this transfer pursuit. Furthermore, the Italian media outlets claim that Inter Milan is open to selling the player for €70-million.

However, the reports do state that PSG is offering over €60-million. Nonetheless, having a deal already agreed to with Hakimi provides Les Pairisens with the lead for the defender. Furthermore, the player’s wife is also pushing for the Inter Milan defender to end up in Paris.

With PSG having a deal in place and Hakimi’s wife pushing for a transfer to the French capital, Chelsea appears to be heading towards Plan B. The Italian media outlets report that the London-based club is looking at Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Adama Traoré as another option besides Hakimi.

Furthermore, the pursuit of Traoré would be cheaper than Hakimi as it would cost Chelsea about €20-million. Inter Milan needs to sell by the end of this month, so this saga will soon end. If Chelsea is looking at other options, the PSG is in the driver seat to land their guy.
