PSG Mercato: Paris SG Contacted Real Madrid About Raphaël Varane

Paris Saint-Germain has taken a step forward in following Raphaël Varane. The Real Madrid defender has one more year left on his deal and doesn’t seem interested in extending his contract past this coming season.

As a result, Los Blancos could sell Varane this summer rather than losing him on a free transfer for next season. Nonetheless, the capital club is pushing for a potential transfer. Recently, Varane has reportedly stated his preference in returning to France and playing for PSG.

This desire to return home seems to have kicked the French giant’s interest. PSG has not only contacted the player’s entourage to survey the situation, but now they’re taking another step for a possible transfer.

According to Foot Mercato, PSG sporting director Leonardo has discussed the Varane case with the Real Madrid management to know his availability. The report states that Los Blancos aren’t closing the idea for a possible sale.

New manager Carlo Ancelotti wants Varane to stay and include him in his plans. However, unless he can convince the defender to extend, he’ll not have much say in the process.
