Lionel Messi’s contract with FC Barcelona expires next month, and there’s plenty of speculation as to what the 33-year-old will decide to do with his future. Recently, Le Parisien reported that Messi’s entourage was pushing for a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Nonetheless, it doesn’t seem as though Messi has made his decision regarding where he will play next season. Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo reports that sources close to Messi have denied that the Barcelona player has decided to continue or not with the La Liga side.
Furthermore, Messi’s decision to remain with Barcelona also depends on Joan Laporta’s project and the contract offer he makes. As of now, there’s no proposal on the table for Messi.
The Argentina international is already on vacation and didn’t play for Barcelona in their fixture against SD Eibar. He will begin preparations to represent his home country at the Copa América next month in one of his last attempts to win an international trophy for Argentina.
