On the heels of its monumental UEFA Champions League quarterfinal first leg win over Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain will return to Ligue 1 play for a fixture against Strasbourg.
PSG will be without multiple players for this match, such as Neymar (red card suspension) and Marco Verratti (coronavirus).
In the midst of a tight Ligue 1 title race, here is how Pochettino may line up what is expected to be a makeshift starting 11, as noted by Le Parisien.
Rico; Dagba, Kehrer Diallo, Bakker; Herrera, Paredes, Rafinha; Sarabia, Kean, Draxler
Keylor Navas may still be exhausted from the eight-save performance against Bayern. Thus, Pochettino could elect to instead start Sergio Rico out at the goalkeeper position for this match.
Marquinhos left PSG’s fixture against Bayern due to an adductor injury and is unavailable to play in this fixture. Thus, Thilo Kehrer may be called to start out at the center-back position.
Leandro Paredes is expected to be back and available for this fixture. PSG could end up going with a 4-3-3 setup that may see Rafinha and Ander Herrera tag along with Paredes in the team’s midfield trio.
Pochettino could choose to provide Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria with a day off considering that the return match against Bayern is coming on Tuesday. Thus, talents such as Pablo Sarabia could be tasked with leading PSG’s attack upfront.
This fixture is now a must-win one for PSG considering that it is currently three points behind new league leaders Lille OSC.
