Real Madrid President Perez Responds to Rumors of a Possible Mbappe Signing

For months now, Real Madrid has been the main club linked with a possible transfer signing for Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe. The French forward is set to become a free agent next year, so clubs like Real Madrid have been in the rumor mill for either a possible free transfer signing next year or a blockbuster move over the upcoming summer transfer window.

Many current and former Real Madrid players have touched on the rumors linking Mbappe to Los Blancos. But on a rare occasion, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez made public comments responding to these such rumors.

Perez joined the Spanish-based show El Chiringuito de Jugones to talk about the new proposed European Super League. More so, Perez was asked about several Real Madrid-related topics, including the club’s interest in Mbappe.

As expected, Perez (via AS) did not come out in full support of wanting to bring in Mbappe but rather halted the rumors for the moment.

“Look, I go about with my mask on and I hear ‘sign Mbappe,’ and what do I reply? Relax,” Perez said. “The truth is he’s a really great player. Madrid need a change too. I’m not talking about Mbappe. But we’ve won a lot, so much has happened. We need to change things and that’s my job.”

As the upcoming summer transfer window nears, the Mbappe to Real Madrid rumors are surely expected to pile up even more.
