PSG Mercato: Keylor Navas’ Form Forces Paris SG to Withdraw From Donnarumma Sweepstakes

Paris Saint-Germain has long had their eyes on AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. Considering PSG sporting director Leonardo was there to see the young goalkeeper up close during his time with the Italian club.

Despite the capital club having Keylor Navas, the French giants continued to monitor Donnarumma’s contract status with Milan since it expires in June. Furthermore, with Navas being 34-years-old Leonardo can’t pass up to land the Costa Rica international’s successor.

Nonetheless, it seems as though Les Parisiens are ready to move from this potential transfer target.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Foot01), with Navas reminding everyone he’s one of the better goalkeepers, the French giants are pulling from themselves out of the Donnarumma sweepstakes.

Donnarumma is a talented young goalkeeper, the potential high salary and already having Navas is enough for PSG to look, but not shop for the 22-year-old.

Eventually, they’ll need a long-term successor for Navas, but despite being in his mid-30’s the PSG goalkeeper isn’t ready to give up his position.
