After a slow start to this season’s UEFA Champions League season, Kylian Mbappe has picked up his form over Paris Saint-Germain’s last three matches in the competition.
Mbappe scored two goals in PSG’s last group stage fixture of the season against Istanbul Basaksehir. The French forward is also just coming off of the four-goal showing in the Champions League round of 16 tie against Barcelona.
Overall, Mbappe has scored six Champions League goals over the ongoing campaign and 11 total since the start of last season.
Mbappe’s 11 Champions League goals since last season trail only Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski (20) and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland (20).
PSG will be meeting Lewandowski and Bayern in the upcoming Champions League quarterfinals. The Polish striker did not score against PSG in last season’s Champions League final, but it sure will be an arduous task for PSG to keep the Bundesliga’s current top goal-scorer off the scoresheet over the upcoming two fixtures.
For Mbappe, he will certainly look to continue to add to his current Champions League goals tally.
