Barcelona Presidential Candidate Freixa Provided for Surprising Comments About Neymar’s PSG Run

Barcelona presidential candidate Toni Freixa has downplayed Neymar’s success at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Barca club presidential elections are just days away. As of late, Freixa, along with Joan Laporta and Victor Font, have continued to campaign and make their case as to why they would be best suited to become the club’s next president.

Over the past months, each candidate has made promises while also providing for headline-type statements in an effort to garner interest from the Barca socios.

For Freixa, he is not one to shy away from making outlandish comments. Last year, when asked about whether Neymar could possibly return to Barca, he closed the door on this possible return while adding that the Brazilian is not among the top 30 players in the sport today.

This time around, Freixa (via ESPN) doubled down on his criticism of Neymar.

“Neymar is the past,” Freixa said. “He didn’t behave well with the club, filing lawsuits. And he’s not been as good at PSG as expected. There are several reasons why he can’t come back to Barca. For me, that door is completely closed.”

It is well safe to say that if Freixa wins the upcoming club elections, Neymar will never return to Barca again.

    1. “he’s not been as good at PSG as expected” Pure ignorance or extremely brainless, I can’t decide which.
