Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti is joining several other teammates in publicly talking about aspirations to see FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi join the French powerhouse.
Several PSG players have in recent weeks openly touched on the rumors that have linked Messi to the reigning Ligue 1 champions. For instance, Angel Di Maria was one player who admitted to wanting to see his Argentine national team counterpart come over to PSG.
Verratti is also sharing the same sentiments that some of his teammates have regarding this possible move. But like with the rest of his teammates, the Italian midfielder (via Canal+) is treading the waters by being careful over his remarks regarding Messi’s upcoming free agency period.
“Of course I would like to play with Messi,” Verratti said. “I would give him the ball and stay behind to watch. Having him on my team would be something more wonderful than football has given me.”
Verratti had the opportunity to play alongside Messi several years ago when he was linked with a shock move to Barcelona. Now, this possible partnership could possibly come to fruition after all.
