Report: PSG’s Projected Lineup for Ligue 1 Fixture Against Marseille

For the third time this season, Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille will face off, as they will renew their historic rivalry in an upcoming Ligue 1 fixture. This will be the final time that these two sides will meet this season unless they end up dueling in the Coupe de France tournament.

PSG is at a point in the season where every win matters, especially considering its current third-place standing in the league table coupled with the fact that it is only a mere three points above fourth-place side AS Monaco.

According to Le Parisien, here is how PSG may line up for this upcoming contest.

Rico; Florenzi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Kurzawa; Di Maria, Verratti, Paredes, Neymar; Mbappé, Icardi

Both Marquinhos and Marco Verratti could make their returns to action in this match. Marquinhos had been dealing with a slight hamstring injury, while Verratti missed PSG’s last two matches following a positive coronavirus test. The two recently returned to training, so PSG’s coaching staff will have a pivotal decision to make on whether they each are ready to earn a start in this match.

Keylor Navas is expected to miss this fixture due to a minor groin injury, so Sergio Rico is slated to earn a third straight league start for PSG.

Pochettino has recently been rotating between Mauro Icardi and Moise Kean for the team’s starting center forward spot. It will be interesting to see on who between Icardi and Kean will Pochettino select for this match.

PSG will aim to make it back-to-back league wins with a victory in this match.
