Paredes Talks PSG’s Key Win Over Nice and Approach for Upcoming Champions League Tie Against Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain came away with a narrow 2-1 win over OGC Nice on matchday 25. Among the key contributors in the match was Leandro Paredes.

The Argentine midfielder earned a start in the team’s midfield setup and wound up playing in 83 minutes before being subbed off for Danilo Pereira. Paredes completed 111 passes, created two goal-scoring chances, logged an interception and registered one ground duel won in the match.

Following the fixture, Paredes spoke to PSG TV on what it meant to pick up this league win.

“I’m very happy because we got the win,” Paredes said. “We played the way we wanted to. We played well against a side who are tough to beat when they have the ball.”

PSG will now have the much-anticipated UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg bout against FC Barcelona up next. For Paredes and company, there is much awareness into how arduous this match will be for the reigning Ligue 1 champions.

“From tomorrow onwards we’re going to focus on the Barcelona game,” Paredes noted.

“It will be a very very difficult game and we’re going to go into it in the best way possible.”

Paredes is expected to earn a start for PSG in this upcoming Champions League knockout stage contest. The Argentine talent played in three matches for the side during the group stage earlier this season.
