PSG Mercato: Hertha Berlin Reopens Interest in Draxler

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Julian Draxler continues to garner much interest ahead of his impending free agency over the upcoming summer transfer window. Now, Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin is the latest club to join in the interest of the soon-to-be departing Draxler, according to a report from the German-based outlet Kicker (via EuroSport)

The German side is looking for immediate reinforcements and has eyed Draxler for a possible transfer move. It remains to be seen whether the club’s board will up its interest over the ongoing winter transfer window or push for such a move in the summer window instead, where Draxler will be available on a free transfer agreement.

Over the last summer transfer window, Hertha Berlin was linked with Draxler for a possible permanent transfer move. But in the end, Hertha Berlin backed off its interest due to financial reasons.

Draxler has not had much to go his way over what is slated to be his final season with PSG. In Ligue 1 play this season, Draxler has recorded a mere three goal contributions in 11 appearances.

The winter transfer window is closing soon, so if any club wishes to sign Draxler, it would need to quickly negotiate with PSG for such a deal.
