Paris Saint-Germain forward Mauro Icardi’s injury woes continue to mar his season as he is now expected to miss the team’s Ligue 1 fixture against Olympique Lyonnais due to injury, according to a report from Le Parisien.
Icardi has been dealing with a slight adductor injury that he suffered during a training session. The Argentine has not featured in a fixture for PSG since sustaining the adductor ailment.
As it pertains to PSG’s fixture against Lyon, Icardi did not take part in a scheduled training session with the team on Friday. So for the moment, he is set to miss the 15th fixture of his season.
At the least for PSG, the club is slated to soon see the return of Julian Draxler to the pitch. He had been dealing with a hamstring injury, but the midfielder ended up being available for PSG’s recent UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against Istanbul Basaksehir, although the team’s coaching staff held him out of the contest. With the German midfielder now deemed to have recovered from the injury, he could be in line to make his return to action in the team’s upcoming key league fixture against Lyon.
