Paris Saint-Germain bounced back well from its 0-0 draw result against Lille OSC as the side defeated Strasbourg by a 4-0 final score.

PSG dominated possession in the first half by a 74 percent to 26 percent margin. But as has been the case in recent fixtures, PSG was not able to muster up many promising attacking sequences while in possession over the opening 45 minutes. PSG did score a key goal off of a Timothee Pembele open play goal, but it was more of the same lackadaisical play from the reigning Ligue 1 champions.

This changed for the club in the second half as PSG scored a trio of goals, including one from Kylian Mbappe. More so, PSG’s defensive backline trio held off Strasbourg and helped preserve the clean sheet.

Even though PSG picked up the much-needed three points, the French side still remains in third place in the league standings. Both Lille and Olympique Lyonnais picked up wins in their respective fixtures on the matchday, which still keeps PSG at third place.

Nonetheless, PSG heads into the Christmas break with 35 points over 17 league fixtures this season.
