Paris Saint-Germain has officially ruled out forward Neymar from its upcoming Ligue 1 fixtures against Lille OSC and Strasbourg due to injury, the team announced on its official website.
Neymar recently was stretchered off the pitch during the late stages of PSG’s home league fixture against Olympique Lyonnais. The club feared the worst as Neymar left the fixture but since then, the forward has made promising progress with his left ankle injury.
PSG states that Neymar is dealing with a bone contusion after suffering a left ankle sprain injury. Neymar will continue to recover from the injury and is expected back for the next month.
PSG will have six fixtures next month, including the Trophee des Champions final against Olympique de Marseille. But for now, PSG will have to move on with its fixtures against Lille and Strasbourg without Neymar especially as the team currently holds a third place standing in the league table.
More so, PSG also ruled out Mauro Icardi and Pablo Sarabia from its fixture against Lille. Their statuses for PSG’s upcoming fixture against Strasbourg remains unclear at the moment.
