After a win last week over Stade Brestois 29, FC Nantes were looking to catch Paris Saint-Germain off-guard and pick up a win if not at least a draw.

The capital club was coming off a UEFA Champions League match during the week and missing key players; it did provide Nantes with some hope to pick up points. Les Canaris held their own as they kept Les Parisiens off the scoresheet in the first half; however, they couldn’t keep PSG down for too long, and eventually, they fell 3-0 to PSG.

Nantes manager Christian Gourcuff spoke to the media, where Canal Supporters relayed his words over how difficult it is to play when PSG is leading.

“The disappointment is not having repeated in the second half what we achieved in the first. We had the ability to put them in difficulty. We had two huge chances. We were in the game. Unfortunately, we quickly conceded a first goal that changed the game. We did not enter the field with the same implication. There was no reason to relax,” Christian Gourcuff said.

“Afterwards, when PSG leads, it becomes more difficult. When they are in comfort, it is difficult. The investment was perfect in the first half against a team that could not find the solution in the midfield. We really disturbed them.”
