Video: ‘I Like Attacking Football, of Course’ – Former PSG Midfielder Explains His Coaching Style

Since Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 loss to RB Leipzig on matchday three of the UEFA Champions League group stage, plenty from the french football media to supporters of the capital club have called for the firing of manager Thomas Tuchel.

However, many have different opinions regarding a replacement should Les Parisians part ways with the German tactician. One name that’s beginning to grow louder is former PSG midfielder Thiago Motta.

In an interview with RMC Sport, Motta discussed his coaching style, which is one that could be music to PSG supporters, considering the type of players the squad currently has.

“I like attacking football, of course. But to produce attacking football, you have to be dynamic, occupy the spaces well, attack. And you have to take risks,” Motta said.

“You want to set up attacking football. There are risks to be taken. To bring dynamism to football, you have to quickly recover the ball. It is when you have the ball that you can choose what you are going to do. My ideas are always those of attacking football.”
