Ángel Di María out together a two-goal performance against Stade Rennes. El Fideo was the engine of the team’s offense as Neymar Jr., and Kylian Mbappé were both missing the match due to injuries.
In 90 minutes, Di María had 42 touches, one assist, and three key passes, so the Argentina international did everything to carry Les Parisiens to a victory heading into the international break.
After the match, the 32-year-old took to the microphone with Canal Plus to discuss whether the squad still supports PSG manager Thomas Tuchel.
“Yes, I think so. We were in the Champions League final, and I think he’s a great coach,” Di María said. “He does the maximum for us, and we do the maximum too. He has our full confidence, and he has confidence in us.”
Di María also answered a question over Tuchel’s tactics and formations, which comes from the German manager still playing Marquinhos in the midfield and Danilo Pereira as a defender.
“These are the choices of the coach,” Di María said. “I play on the left side today, whereas I usually play on the right. We try to do the best we can. Everyone does what the coach wants. We give the best of ourselves. We come out with the victory, and that is the most important.”
