Report: Paredes Agreed to Join Inter Milan Over the Recent Summer Transfer Window

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes was long linked with Inter Milan over the recent summer transfer window. For one, CalcioMercato reported last month that PSG made an attempt to send Paredes to Inter in return for midfielder Marcelo Brozovic on a player-for-player swap deal. Now, a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport is providing further details on the proposed deal that the two clubs discussed.

The report mentions that both clubs did come to an agreement for this proposed swap deal. Paredes even agreed to this deal, which would have sent him to Inter to play for manager Antonio Conte. But talks on this deal broke down due to the difference in salary between the two players. Paredes is reportedly earning €5.5 million net per season on his current deal with PSG.

Conte has longed for Paredes. He has been interested in managing the Argentine midfielder since his days with Chelsea.

The report concludes by speculating on a possible Paredes and Christian Eriksen swap deal. PSG has been interested in signing Eriksen for quite a while but it remains to be seen whether there is any traction to this possible deal.

Inter may very well continue its pursuit of Paredes over the upcoming winter transfer window.
