For the first time in weeks, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes made his long-awaited return to training with the team. As he posted on his official Instagram account, Paredes took part in a scheduled training session with the rest of his PSG teammates.
Paredes has not played in a fixture with PSG since suffering a slight right thigh injury during the first half of the team’s Ligue 1 contest against Nimes Olympique. PSG was cautious throughout Paredes’ rehab from the injury in hopes that he would not suffer a serious setback that would prolong his recovery time. But now, Paredes is declared fit enough to regularly train with the team.
The Argentine’s status for PSG’s UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against RB Leipzig is not yet known. Since he just returned to training, it is unlikely that the club will rush him in to start a pivotal fixture such as this one. PSG may just decide to instead focus on bringing him back to feature with the team following this month’s international break.
