Official Lineup: Di Maria Returns from Ligue 1 Suspension to Start Against Rennes

Paris Saint-Germain is set to once again play in a Ligue 1 fixture without multiple players due to injury. PSG is currently without six players due to injury, including the team’s superstar forwards in Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. Thus, PSG manager Thomas Tuchel has selected a new starting 11 for the team’s Ligue 1 fixture against Stade Rennais.

At the goalkeeper position, Keylor Navas is making a surprise start for the team. Tuchel had initially ruled out Navas due to a muscle injury, but it seems as if the veteran goalkeeper made just enough progress from his injury over the past day to work his way into the starting 11.

In the defense, Presnel Kimpembe is not available due to a foot injury. Thus, Marquinhos will make a return to starting out at center-back after playing multiple recent games in the midfield. Thilo Kehrer will make his first start out at right-back since returning from a significant adductor injury.

PSG is once again without midfielders Marco Verratti and Julian Draxler due to injury. Thus, Leandro Paredes will slot into the defensive midfield role for this match.

For the first time in over a month, Di Maria will start for PSG in a Ligue 1 fixture. He missed the club’s last four league games due to a suspension following a spitting incident during the Le Classique fixture earlier this season. Moise Kean will once again take hold of the starting center forward role for the team. And in a surprise lineup move, it seems as if Alessandro Florenzi will play as a winger in this contest.

A win for PSG in this match will create distance away from Rennes, who currently sits in third place in the Ligue 1 table.
