Report: Kimpembe Will Start for France in Nations League Fixture Against Portugal

Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe is slated to earn a start for the French national team against Portugal in the upcoming UEFA Nations League clash between the two, according to a report from RMC Sport.

Kimpembe started for France in its key Nations League fixture against Sweden last month. He helped the team keep a clean sheet against the Swedish side.

Now thanks to his recent stout performances with PSG, France national team manager Didier Deschamps is now projected to give Kimpembe a start in its pivotal fixture against Portugal. Per the report, PSG forward Kylian Mbappe is also expected to start for Deschamps’ side.

France currently stands in second place in Group A3 behind Portugal. If France is able to pick up wins against Portugal and Croatia over the current international break, it will put Les Bleus in prime position to clinch its group and secure a spot in the Nations League knockout stage.
