Report: PSG Interested in Signing Bayern Munich and Milan Brothers

I think it’s safe to say that no club in Europe will be as active as Paris Saint-Germain once the transfer window opens.

As I previously outlined, at least seven players are expected to leave PSG (some at the end of the season and others at the end of June) and Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, will have to replace them while also under the financial restraint caused by the coronavirus.

According to a report from Cadena Ser (via 90Min), PSG is interested in signing brothers Lucas Hernandez (FC Bayern Munich) and Theo Hernandez (AC Milan).

In terms of Lucas, the defender is on the outside looking in when it comes to Bayern’s starting lineup and with the UEFA European Championship next summer, he needs playing time to secure his spot in the France national team. The deal could be quite expensive though. The Germans signed Lucas last summer for €80 million and you have to believe they’ll try and recoup as much of that transfer fee as possible.

The other Hernandez brother, Theo, has been in the transfer rumor mill before in regards to a move to the French capital. The Milan man is said to be happy in Serie A, but, it’s possible that if PSG pays a premium, around €50 million, the Rossoneri would be willing to let him leave.

PSG could absolutely use both Lucas and Theo Hernandez. Thiago Silva’s departure leaves an opening at center-back for Lucas and Layvin Kurzawa’s exit means Theo could challenge Juan Bernat for the starting left-back role.

If the Ligue 1 champions can come up with the funds necessary to pull off a sensational double swoop for the Hernandez brothers, it would be a massive boost ahead of next season.
