Paris Saint-Germain has been rocked this past week with the announcement of several departures ahead of next season, including Edinson Cavani, Thiago Silva, and Tanguy Kouassi. Now, it’s time for the Ligue 1 champions to go on the offensive.
According to Le10Sport, the Emir of Qatar favors AC Milan’s Ismaël Bennacer and any previous reports about PSG’s interest in the player is due to their request.
Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, previously held the same position at Milan and while he is targeting several Rossoneri players, Le10Sport believes his preference would be to sign Lazio’s Sergej Milinković-Savić.
In order to fund the signing of Milinković-Savić (approximately €85 million), the report indicates that Leonardo would be willing to part ways with Julian Draxler, Ander Herrera, Leandro Paredes, and Idrissa Gueye if necessary.
Bennacer would cost slightly less. While PSG has reportedly had an offer of €30 million turned down, it’s thought that €50 million should be enough to convince the Serie A club to part ways with their star midfielder.
In my opinion, Milinković-Savić is worth the extra €35 million. I think he’s that much better of a player and will fit into PSG’s squad much better. Not only is he the physically imposing force PSG needs in the midfield but his ability to create would be special with the likes of Neymar Jr., Mauro Icardi, and Kylian Mbappé in front of him.
