Report: PSG Preparing Bid for Roma Midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director is searching all over Serie A for a tall midfielder.

Leonardo was targeting Lazio’s Sergej Milinković-Savić, however, with the Italian club likely qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season, reports are surfacing over a potential contract extension to keep him in Rome.

It looks as though the capital club will have to gear towards plan B, and according to Le10Sport, that means going after Lorenzo Pellegrini of AS Roma.

The Italian midfielder fits the height requirement that Leonardo is looking to add to the PSG midfield (6’2″), and as a result, Les Parisiens are prepping a €30 million bid.

Nonetheless, if the Brazilian wants to bring the 23-year-old to Paris, it will take some convincing. Recently, Pellegrini made it known that he would like to remain with Roma and help build something special alongside teammate Nicolò Zaniolo.

Roma is three points outside of a UEFA Champions League spot, and if they fail to qualify for the tournament, the Italian club might be open to selling the midfielder.

Furthermore, if Leonardo is not able to convince Pellegrini on his own to join PSG, then he should rely on Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappé to do some recruiting on his behalf.
