Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director didn’t list winger as a potential position that he’d like to upgrade and with the coronavirus pandemic having a financial impact on the club, Leonardo is likely to pass on a luxury purchase when the transfer window opens.
Nonetheless, with Les Parisiens having a strong connection with Brazil, it’s no surprise that Grêmio is proposing Éverton to the capital club according to Foot Mercato.
After a breakout performance during the 2019 Copa América, where he helped Brazil secure the South American trophy, many European clubs took notice. The 24-year-old has drawn interest from various clubs like Everton (seems like a natural fit, no?), Borussia Dortmund, and Napoli.
Furthermore, when it comes to his club stats, Éverton has made 179 total appearances for the Imortal Tricolor and has scored 47 goals and racked up 17 assists.
The Brazilian club is looking to cash in on the winger and is hoping for an offer north €30 million. However, with the coronavirus impacting the finances of clubs, it’s doubtful that Grêmio will receive such an offer unless it’s a payment that’s spread out over time.
PSG could use another winger with Angel Di Maria being 32-years-old and Pablo Sarabia being sporadic at times in his first year. Still, purchasing a winger is a luxury buy, but I won’t deny that Éverton would be an intriguing addition to the capital club squad.
