Neymar Training Harder Than Before in Anticipation of Football Returning

The last time we saw Neymar Jr. in a competitive match for Paris Saint-Germain, he was scoring against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League and mocking Erling Haaland ruthlessly.

That was before the Champions League was suspended and Ligue 1 was canceled due to the coronavirus, resulting in PSG being named champions for the ninth time in club history.

At the outset of the pandemic, Neymar left France for his native Brazil where he is in isolation at his luxury compound. From his Instagram account, fans can see that the 28-year-old is staying fit and working with his trainer. He’s even provided exercise tips for fans stuck at home.

In his recent comments (via BBC), Neymar claims he is training harder than ever as he and everyone else waits for PSG to return to the pitch.

“The aim is to be ready for when they signal the return of club activities, so I can be in the best possible condition.”

“I’m here, training hard, with the same rhythm and frequently that I would with the club. Training even harder actually, with more activities to compensate for the lack of games.”

“Of course I miss the competition, but [fitness coach] Ricardo Rosa set up a programme that I have been following to the letter.”

Now, let’s just hope that the rest of his teammates are as dedicated so that when the Champions League returns, in August most likely, PSG can go on a run and win the first title in club history.
