Neymar Described as Humble By PSG Teammate

Ask most non-Paris Saint-Germain supporters what they think of Neymar and you’ll likely hear some not so nice things.

Arrogant, diver, diva, spoiled, traitor…the list goes on.

Those who get to know Neymar tell a different story though. After all, there’s a reason why Lionel Messi and literally every player and executive who has ever been associated with FC Barcelona wants him to return to the Camp Nou.

Leandro Paredes is one of Neymar’s current teammates and has become the Brazilian’s official protector on the pitch. During a recent interview with TNT Sport (via ParisTeam.fr), Paredes discussed a number of PSG-related topics, including what it’s like playing with Neymar.

“When I first came into the PSG locker room, it was crazy, I said to myself. It was difficult. Now, it’s like being with friends every day. They benefit a lot. They are incredible people, people who enjoy life, training, play. The truth is that it is a group of players and incredible people. Neymar? Like Messi, people create an image, but he is very humble. I am happy to know them both. I hope to have them as partners for a long time.”

After a rocky start to his PSG career when he signed from FC Zenit Saint Petersburg in January of 2019 for €40 million, Paredes has settled in and while he’s not a regular starter (50 total appearances), he adds valuable depth to the squad.

Paredes is likely on the list of players who could be sold this summer to raise funds for more vital players but it would be a shame considering how he’s acclimated to the team and city.
