The goal came in the 41st minute with PSG already up 1-0, thanks to Pablo Sarabia, and with a man advantage after starting goalkeeper Dimitry Bertaud handled the ball outside of the box and was sent off.
Sarabia deserves a lot of credit for this goal. His first-touch and turn opened up the Montpellier defense and allowed him to pick out Di Maria who had a clear path towards the goal.
The Argentine took one touch and allowed the ball to run before chipping the keeper for his 11th goal of the season and to put PSG up 2-0 before halftime.
With the man advantage and hefty lead, it’s unlikely that the visitors will be able to mount a comeback. Hopefully, PSG can get through this match healthy with a date against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League on February 18.
