If Kylian Mbappé’s teammates were hoping for an apology from the young Frenchman following Saturday’s incident with manager Thomas Tuchel, it appears they did not get one as reported by L’Equipe.
The French publication indicates that Mbappé does not have an issue with his teammates or those who replaced him on the pitch against Montpellier HSC, but presumably, with his coach who continues to take him out of games earlier than other stars like Angel Di Maria and Neymar Jr. L’Equipe does report that Mbappé admitted that he “may have over-reacted.”
Tuchel isn’t completely innocent here. Yes, the decision to remove a player is his to make alone, however, he did instigate the incident by greeting Mbappé on the edge of the pitch and putting his hands on him in an attempt to slow him down and explain his decision. The German knows Mbappé doesn’t like being taken off and he should have just let him sit on the bench and cool off.
PSG manager Tuchel substituted Mbappe earlier today and he was absolutely fuming with the decision.
This isn't good at all, just a reminder that Mbappe still hasn't signed a new contract with PSG. 👀 pic.twitter.com/djRngUpyCD

For PSG supporters, many worry that this incident could cause Mbappé to ask for a transfer this summer. However, L’Equipe doesn’t believe the on-going issue with Tuchel will impact whether or not the Frenchman will sign a contract extension with PSG. How far the club goes in the UEFA Champions League this season will likely play a much larger factor.
