Mbappé Admits to Being Freaked Out Against Monaco

Paris Saint-Germain’s match against AS Monaco last Sunday was alarming for a number of reasons but none more than when Kylian Mbappé went down clutching his knee in pain after he appeared to get his foot stuck in the pitch in an awkward manner.

Watching the Frenchman writhe in pain was difficult and given PSG’s recent history of losing their best players right before the knockout phase of the UEFA Champions League, it was hard to not think of the worst.

Luckily, the 21-year-old was able to shake off the pain and finish out the match. On Tuesday, one Twitter user asked Mbappé how his knee was feeling and the French superstar responded, “It’s better thank you, it was a good freaking out huh 😳👀”

On Wednesday evening, PSG will face Monaco once again but this time at the Stade Louis II where Mbappé is expected to start against his former club and hopefully remain upright throughout.

At some point though, manager Thomas Tuchel will need to give Mbappé a rest, even if the Frenchman doesn’t like it.

After the Monaco match, PSG has three away matches to wrap up the month of January and then four matches in February before facing Borussia Dortmund on the 18th in the Champions League.
