Leandro Paredes’ Impressive PSG Record

Leandro Paredes doesn’t often feature for Paris Saint-Germain and in fact, he’s one of the players who frequently finds his name in the January transfer rumor mill.

However, despite his lack of playing time, Paredes has recently made the most of him minutes with several solid performances.

Against Angers SCO, Paredes started in the midfield alongside Marquinhos and with Angel Di Maria, Mauro Icardi, Neymar Jr., and Kylian Mbappé in front of him, the Argentine played 148 balls throughout the 90 minutes, a record for any PSG or Ligue 1 player this season according to Culture PSG.

As I mentioned previously, Paredes has been included in a number of transfer deals but nothing has materialized yet and it’s been reported by Yahoo Sports that manager Thomas Tuchel would like him to stay in the French capital for the rest of the season at least.

It’s a smart decision from the German tactician and PSG. Paredes cost a hefty €40 million just 12 months ago and they won’t nearly recoup that if they sold now. As evidenced by his passing statistic, Paredes still has something he can offer this team and while there are no injuries currently, we all know how there can be surprises when you least expect them.
