Video: Kylian Mbappé Proves He Is Much More Than Just a Sprinter

It’s difficult to imagine Kylian Mbappé having detractors but they’re out there.

Not only do they claim that Mbappé’s game is based purely on speed and that he has very little technical ability, but they frequently compare him to Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford—the ultimate insult in my opinion.

For those who have blinders on and do not believe Mbappé is one of the top overall players in the world, the next two clips are for you:

Against Dijon FCO—which ended in a shocking 2-1 loss for Paris Saint-Germain—Mbappé scored his team’s only goal and had a breathtaking stretch of play where he displayed an incredible work rate and technical ability.

He slid on his stomach in the rain to save the ball from going out of bounds and then quickly got up, composed himself, and planned his next move.

He dribbled towards goal and then stole Ngonda Muzinga’s soul with an absolutely vicious nutmeg. If the referee on the night was even remotely competent, he would have awarded a penalty to Mbappé who was taken down in the box at the end of the move.

Mbappé has now scored seven goals in his last four games in a variety of ways. It’s scary to think but the Frenchman is only 20-years-old and he’s getting better with every game. If he avoids another injury this season, he could set all kinds of goalscoring records and bring a major title to the French capital.
